So... I'm kinda, sorta, maybe working on a logo for my wife's Etsy page. She makes dresses for little girls and babies. I'm actually giving my tablet a little bit of a workout, but I'll post our final logo here. Just in case anyone is interested.

No painting is happening, no modeling either. What little freetime I have I spend with my girls or gaming... a big paint project is going to take some work, I'm sure I'm rusty.

I've not been painting very much, but I have done up a squad of scout snipers as well as a 5 man assault squad.
I'm just waiting on changing out the steel balls I put in my paint. Sadly, they rusted, so I got some glass beads instead to use as shakers. I just have to switch them out and hope that any rust doesn't interfere with the paint itself. I don't want to have to buy all new paint.

I hope to start painting again soon, but real life and baby have kinda gotten in the way.

Star Trek Online isn't helping either.

Also, I got my new camera, and it's AWESOME! I'll do up some good pics of what I have done, my old camera didn't do anything justice.

I want points!

Jessica (Mrs Longscope) and I have been thinking about getting a Digital SLR camera for taking pictures of the baby, and perhaps starting a small side-business taking photos for people.

We've got just shy of a Grand to spend, and are trying to decide between the Nikkon D5000 (with 2 lenses& bag) for $800, or the Cannon XTi (with 2 lenses).

Does anyone have any meaningful experience with, or can recommend one?

Work is progressing ever-so-slowly on my assault squad. The problem with being a painting perfectionist is that it never looks quite good enough. Even if friends and family say that the work is spectacular (those filthy liars).

So as it stands, I have the squad posed, glued and mounted on slate rubble stands, all that's missing is their heads.
After that comes the priming and the basecoat, but since it's raining in Arizona right now (wtf, right?) I'm going to have to wait till the air dries out some before breaking out the spray cans.

I'll post pics once the initial basecolor and shading (new technique testing!) get finished.
